Global Conquest Version History

The v1.03 (v1.3.0.0) game executable version is on the download page.

To check the game version, right-click GlobalConquest.exe and select Properties, then click the Version tab. If you downloaded the game from another website, you may have an older version.

-Added a number of keyboard shortcuts, including an option to toggle the 
 sound on and off.  See the GC Guide for a complete list of shortcuts.
-Lowered the overall costs associated with non-permanent upgrades.
-Fixed a bug that could cause some alternate maps to crash the game.
-Fixed a bug that could prevent a computer player from being recognized 
 by the game as eliminated.

-Additional maps can be downloaded and loaded by the game.
-Computer AI improved and difficulty increased.
-The amount for selling troops/tanks is reduced to 40% of their buy
 value.
-Increased the cost of barracks and factories.

-Fixed a bug that could cause defending territories to be stronger than
 they should be.
-Attack results will be much more consistent (randomness of battles
 greatly decreased).
-The 'Tab' button now toggles between two different information
 displays above the flag on the map: tick marks and numbers.
-'Ctrl' shortcut added to speed up attacks and moves.
-Fixed a bug involving saved game files.
-Fixed a bug with the Research/Upgrade menu.
-Fixed a bug with the borders on Indonesia.
-Changed values of group territory bonuses.
-Reduced the game EXE and download size.
-The Attack command button logic/error messages improved.
-Bunker defense tweaked (overall effectiveness weakened).
-Players can change the AI difficulty by clicking on the computer icon
 in the game setup screen.
-Added a $50 market fee for selling troops/tanks for each transaction.
-The 'Capitol' display in 'Player Status' will now display the correct
 value if the capitol was destroyed.
-Nuclear missiles have a 33% chance of destroying a nuclear silo, down
 from 100%.
-Minimap screen now updates after turn upkeep.
